21st April marks the Queen’s actual birthday, not to be confused with her ‘official birthday’ held in June each year! At Cumnor Hill House, we decided to celebrate Elizabeth II’s real birthday, and this year, she turned 92 years of age, which is amazing when you consider how active her role still is.

With many of our residents around the same age as the Queen and with a few Royalists in our midst, we decided to throw a birthday party in honour of our Monarch’s special day, and everyone had an absolutely wonderful time. To mark the occasion, we held a patriotic quiz and a colouring competition too, bringing out the competitive side of some of our residents.

We had entertainment from singers Debbie Hayes and Gemma Louise Doyle, along with a fantastic show by ventriloquist Paul Dumas. It really was a good day, with everyone having fun in the sun, enjoying the entertainment and partaking in a delicious afternoon tea prepared by our lovely kitchen staff. Thank you to everyone involved for making Her Majesty’s birthday such a delightful day!
