Florence is a well-loved member of the team here at Cumnor Hill House and has close relationships with staff and residents alike. Florence has been part of the team since March 2016 and in addition to working here part-time, she has also been knuckling down to complete her Law degree.

That sounds like a lot for one person to manage already, but that’s not all – Florence has made it to the semi-final of Miss England! And Cumnor Hill House is delighted to provide sponsorship to enable her to progress as far as possible in this prestigious competition.

Florence entered the competition as it’s an amazing way to meet inspirational women who dedicate themselves to helping others and supporting campaigns that change the lives of many, which is something that she’s greatly interested in getting involved with.

In order to make it this far, Florence had to go through an initial application process, and this led her to being entered into the public vote. Although she received a lot of support, Florence did not win this round, however, the judges reviewed the candidates and she was selected to take part in the live semi-finals for Miss Birmingham.

Miss England offers an amazing platform for Florence to spread awareness regarding children in poorer countries who do not have the opportunities and support they deserve. This is something Florence feels passionate about, especially following a trip volunteering in Morocco where she got the chance to help in an orphanage and a school for children with special needs.

We’re incredibly proud of what Florence has achieved already and wish her all the best for the semi-final. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for updates and to find out more about the competition, visit https://www.missengland.info/.
From all at Cumnor Hill House, good luck, Florence!
