Mind is a fantastic charity that provides advice and support to help empower those experiencing mental health problems. Over more than 60 years, they have been campaigning to promote understanding, raise awareness and improve services, touching millions of lives in the process.

Mind’s ethos: We won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.

Here at Cumnor Hill House, we fully support this fantastic charity and the importance of taking mental health seriously. That’s why every other Tuesday afternoon, Ben and one of his colleagues from Oxfordshire Mind pay us a visit and take the time to have a chat with the residents here in our home.

It’s not just a chinwag about random things – it’s about getting through the day, setting goals, learning coping strategies and having meaningful social interaction. It’s Mind’s aim to actively improve the lives of people in the older adult community, and that precious time Ben spends with our residents really does make a difference.

The local branch of Mind here in Oxfordshire is 70% NHS-funded, 20% council-funded and the last 10% of cash needed to keep it running comes from fundraising. If you are able to support this wonderful charity at any time, please do so, as the work they do is so, so important.

We really appreciate all that Ben and the rest of the team at Oxfordshire Mind do for us here at Cumnor Hill House.
