Today we completed our sponsored walk for the Oxford Hospitals Charity. Our residents met the goal of 50 laps and together we had fun raising money for such a great charity !!
Thank you to those who supported us.
For National Map Day we arranged for photos of our residents on holiday to be sent in so a shared photo album could be created. This enabled us to see all the places that our residents had visited. We soon discovered that many had a passion for exploring and traveling. We then dotted the visited destinations on a wall map and it's so pleasing to see how many places our residents have been to!!
Our residents watched the boat race that took place on Easter Day. It was a special event for one of our residents in particular as their son had been involved in organising the event. All the residents came together to watch the race unfold!!
WORLD PARTY DAY !! We celebrated by having an American 50s themed party. Burgers, hotdogs, and milkshakes were served and the residents enjoyed dancing to some of the greatest hits from the 1950s.
Ensuring our residents are able to do what they enjoy is a priority of ours. This gentleman loves to play the piano, so ensuring he has access to one is part of the service that we provide here at Cumnor Hill House.
It is lovely to see our residents enjoying the activities that they love to do.
Afternoon tea was served in the Bistro over the weekend for our residents to enjoy. All the cakes were handmade in the home
and were delightful !!
Our residents love to join in with the group exercise sessions that take place within the home.
Finding activities that are suitable for all of our residents is very important to us. Here a resident is enjoying our sensory box of balls and toys that he can feel. Some of these items brought back great memories such as the yo-yo and the juggling balls.
We Celebrated Winston Churchill Day last week by having traditional fish and chips and we watched his famous speeches !!
The residents really enjoyed celebrating this occasion as it brought back a lot of memories.
Yesterday we had a Mad Hatter's Tea Party which everyone enjoyed. The residents were joined by Alice, The mad Hatter, The Queen of Hearts and Dweedle Dum.
We have celebrated a few Birthdays over the past month. Although it is hard to celebrate a Birthday during a pandemic we have made it as enjoyable as we can to ensure their special day is still celebrated and one for them to remember.
The sunshine is here!!! And we made sure to enjoy it while we can.
Our residents took part in a group exercise class outside in the sunshine with our instructor.
The ladies enjoyed a glass of wine in the garden on this sunny afternoon. They sat back and relaxed in the sunshine.
